Last night, Disney aired The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular (now streaming on Hulu and Disney+, by the way) and during the show revealed the names of two highly anticipated attractions coming to Walt Disney World. The names for both the new villains show coming to Hollywood Studios and the new nighttime parade coming to Magic Kingdom have been revealed to be:
The new show coming to Hollywood Studios will be named Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. The show is going to be replacing the Lightning McQueen in the Sunset Showcase theater, located at the end of Sunset Blvd. past Rock n’ Rollercoaster. The Lightning McQueen show, while fun, always felt temporary. My best guess is the animatronic will be moved over to the new Cars Land taking over Frontierland in Magic Kingdom.
The show will be “hosted” by the Magic Mirror and will take guests into the world of infamous Disney Villains including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent to name a few. In addition to the Magic Kingdom getting a new Cars Land, it is also scheduled to be getting a new entire Villains themed land in the park. Like the Cars show, this is most likely a temporary show that will give guests a preview of what they can expect in the new land, but only time will tell.
In addition to the new show coming to Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom will also be home to a new nighttime parade. The new name of the parade has been revealed to be Disney Dreamlight: Dream the Night Away, and will be inspired by movies like Moana, Encanto, Peter Pan, and more. The last time the resort saw a nighttime parade was in 2016 when the Main Street Electrical Parade made its last showing. A new nighttime parade has been something fans have been asking for, right along with the eventual villains land, so to see Disney following through on attractions that are most requested by their fanbase is a hugely encouraging sign for the future.
