Well the rumor mill is buzzing tonight, this one from The Hollywood Reporter, as it is being reported that The Bear actor, Jeremy Allen White, has been cast in the Mandalorian & Grogu as the voice of Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta the Hutt. Fun stuff. And just like our last report about Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie potentially returning for Avengers: Doomsday, this one is also being take with a giant spoonful of salt due to the lack of details.
The report from THR claims that White will be playing the character of Rotta, who first appeared in the 2008 animated series The Clone Wars. The actor will be voicing the character, so it’s assumed that the son of Jabba will be either a puppet or fully CGI. It will be interesting to see how the the Jabba the Hutt lineage interacts with the Mandalorian, given his bounty hunter position.
As of right now there is not much else to report, except THR confirmed they had not heard back any sort of response from Lucasfilms about the rumor. The Mandalorian & Grogu will see the main characters of the hit Disney+ The Mandalorian propelled onto the big screen for the first time, due to the success of the first three seasons of the series.
Jeremy Allen White is best known for his work on the FX show, The Bear. The show is about a young chef who returns to Chicago to run his families sandwich shop. You can currently find it streaming on both Hulu and Disney+.
