WDWNT Hosts 50 Hour Toys for Tots Marathon Benefit

One of the leaders in Walt Disney World news, WDWNT, is currently in the middle of a 50 hour Toys for Tots charity benefit on their YouTube channel, and you can check it out here. The benefit started on Friday and is going up until 11pm when their Live Auction Grand Finale airs.

If you watch Disney park new channels, you’ll notice that Toys for Tots and other similar charity benefits are a normal thing, but Walt Disney World News Today (WDWNT) kicked it up a notch by doing a 50 hours marathon that included events like Friday’s Disney Decades game, yesterday’s Legos and Lattes, and today’s upcoming Dinosaur Presentation – according to their event schedule. Even if you don’t have the funds to donate, just watching supports the channel and increases the chances that they (and others) will do the same next year.

Other Disney YouTube channels like The Dis have been known to work with charities, and watching the channels start to one up each other on charity benefits is a nice change of pace from some of the questionable things major entertainment providers sometimes focus their energy on. If channels like WDWNT and The Dis can be appreciative of the position that they’re in enough to try and give back, I say more power to them.

Right now is a perfect time for Disney YouTubers to capitalize on the brands’ gravitas, and hopefully we start to see other Disney YouTube channels follow suit. With movies like Inside Out 2 and Moana 2 breaking the box office, and new theme park lands like Cars coming to Frontierland and Monsters Inc coming to Hollywood Studios, Disney is smack dab in the middle of a building phase and what better way to support that by using that brand energy to promote good will? Other known channels do good for people all the time, so it’s nice to be able to put the spotlight on them from time to time.

Make sure to check out the benefit here, it goes until 11pm tonight. I am not affiliated with WDWNT but I’d assume any size donation is appreciated.
