It’s been a long time since we have seen Tom Holland swing through New York City in a Spider-Man film, with No Way Home coming to theaters all the way back in 2021. The film ended with Peter Parker disappearing from the world’s consciousness, and Brand New Day will most likely focus on Peter getting his life back while taking on what is rumored to be the most villains seen in any single Spider-Man film. To add to the hype, a new rumor on Twitter claims the film might also be giving us one of the most major post credit scenes in all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel is known for its post credit scenes beginning all the way back with the first Iron Man in which we learned that the studio was in fact gearing up to give us a major Avengers team up. We then got a glimpse of Thanos for the first time in the Avengers post credit scene, and since then every movie in the studios’ line up has given us some sort of tease on what we can expect from future MCU installments. I would imagine it’s hard to beat both the Avengers and Thanos in level of importance to the entire universes narrative, but if a rumor that began on Twitter today (no I won’t be calling it X) is to be believed, we may be in for something else just as large this summer.

According to user MyTimeToShineHello (@MyTimeToShineH), a new leak is claiming that the post credit scene in Spider-Man Brand New Day will be “one of the biggest in the MCU”. He then responds to his own thread saying that he heard the leak himself and it’s going to be “the most insane Spider-Man movie of them all”. No details on the leak or the scene are given, and if we were we wouldn’t post them anyway, but we can’t help but get hyped for the movie based on this info. It also helps that MyTimeToShineHello has made accurate claims in the past, so the credibility with the claim is there.

As of right now, we can only guess what the post credit scene might be. Green Goblin? The Sinister Six (again?)… honestly, probably not. I can’t imagine either of those scenes would illicit the type of responses seen on above and would fall more on the side or predictable, so I would guess it either has to do with the X-Men, Doomsday, or possibly teasing another big bad for the next phase of films after Doomsday and Secret Wars have concluded. My money is on a tease for the next phase of movies, possibly a new big bad coming from the X-Men universe? It’s rumored that Sadie Sink will be playing Jean Grey in the film, so if that ends up being true then I think the chances are high it is somehow related to the X-Men. It’s also been heavily speculated that the next phase of films after the Doom saga will be focused on the X-Men, so so bringing in a major mutant big bad for the next phase of films would make a lot of sense. Or, perhaps we will get to see the new MCU Wolverine, Cyclops, Professor X and the rest? As of right now, only time will tell.

Previous Spider-Man installments have included post credit scenes teasing both Spider-Man franchise movies (with characters like Vulture, Scorpion, and Venom) along with other franchises in the MCU (Captain America, Secret Invasion, Multiverse of Madness, etc) so your guess is as good as ours for what it pertains to. Keeping it within the Spider-Man franchise is more on the predictable side if you ask me, and the only thing that would illicit a huge response from me in that scenario would be the surprise introduction of Miles Morales.
