  • Next ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer Runtime Revealed, Will (Most Likely) Be Attached to ‘Masters of the Universe’

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to release at the end of July, but so far we’ve only gotten one real trailer for the film which seems somewhat underwhelming for one of Marvel’s only 2026 releases. We now know there is a second trailer on the verge of release, and according to the Korean Ratings Board we now know the runtime for the trailer is clocking in at 44 seconds.

You’re probably thinking to yourself that 44 seconds sounds like a very short trailer runtime for a film as highly anticipated as the next chapter in the Spider-Man franchise, and to that you would not be mistaken. Most Marvel films have trailers that run into the later half of the first minute and most times even longer, depending on the anticipated reception for the film, so 44 seconds for a Spider-Man film is relatively underwhelming. But if you think about the marketing so far, it actually kind of makes sense why they are choosing to hold back and not give fans too much going into the film.

If you recall the marketing and initial trailer shown so far for Brand New Day, Marvel has drip fed fans information about this film and will presumably continue to do so. I would imagine that this played into Marvel and Sony’s strategy of keeping details for this movie more hush-hush than usual. We know bits and pieces of what to expect for this film, but major story points such as the main villain, details on Sadie Sink’s character, and the general idea of what to expect from the plot have been kept intentionally quiet.

The first trailer, if you recall, gave us the basic premise of what we can expect from the setup of the film, and gave us quick glimpses of some of the more prominent details already released to fans such as the Punisher and Bruce Banner’s involvement, the ninja group the Hand first introduced in Netflix’s intertwining street level shows, and the continuation of everyone in Peter’s life forgetting who he is after the conclusion of No Way Home. Some media outlets are claiming that the 44 second follow up trailer will be a rehash of footage already shown, but I can’t imagine them not including at least some new footage.

The second trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will most likely be attached to Sony’s next major franchise film Masters of the Universe, premiering in theaters June 5th.

Along with the length of the trailer, the timing of the Korean Ratings Board inclusion almost conclusively points to the film being attached to Sony’s next major franchise film, Masters of the Universe. Historically speaking, foreign ratings for trailers typically come out one-two weeks before the trailer airs and the timing tracks perfectly. Sony will want to use one major franchise to help advertise another, and the studio arguably has a massive one-two punch with the two films this summer so it would be extremely short sighted to not include it before the film’s release on June 5th. The audience demographics of both films are very similar and the studio would almost have to be stupid to not include a Spider-Man trailer before Masters of the Universe. This is not confirmed anywhere, but can be predicted pretty much by basic knowledge of the industry and common sense alone.

Many fans are hoping for some footage of the anticipated ‘Savage Hulk’ return and Sadie Sink’s character presumed to be the mutant Jean Grey, but so far Marvel has done massive work keeping those kind of plot points under wraps and will most likely continue that theme for the second trailer. We might see some footage of Sadie Sink, but I would be shocked if they made it known who she is actually playing in the film. I wouldn’t be surprised if the marketing ramped up on a massive scale going into July where we might get more information on these kind of details, but if the second trailer really is only 44 seconds the most we will get is probably going to be just a glimpse of these kind of details.

For now, all we can do is make predictions on what to expect from the next trailer. I personally would love some confirmation on who to expect for the main villain with the first trailer only giving us a quick scene of Scorpion’s return from the Spider-Man Homecoming‘s post credit scene, but if the studio is going to this much length to keep it a secret then it might have some major implications for the franchise of the overarching MCU as a whole. It’s been reported this film is going to contain a large amount of Spider-Man villains compared to your typical super hero film, but not one single villain has been highlighted as Peter Parker’s main antagonist and I have to think that was done for a reason. For now, all we can do is theorize and wait for the details to continue to be drip fed to us.

Are you looking forward to the next installment in the Spider-Man franchise? I personally wasn’t going to see Masters of the Galaxy because I know nothing about the franchise outside of the Skeletor memes, but with this new information I might just have to get a ticket.
