  • And The ‘Spider-Man’ Rumors Continue… Insiders Theorize Post-Credit Scene Could Feature Battleworld

Fans who have done their research probably already have a good idea about how Doomsday will end and what Secret Wars will be about, and if the new theories are true the Spider-Man Brand New Day post-credit scene might just be our first on screen bridge to the epic two part Avengers movies that we are inn for over the next couple years.

Yesterday, we reported on a rumor circulating Twitter claiming that the Spider-Man Brand New Day post credit scene will be one of the most major in the history of the MCU. This could mean a lot of things, but our initial guesses were either a Doomsday/Secret Wars tease or an introduction to some of the new MCU X-Men. For those familiar with the comics that Doomsday and Secret Wars will be inspired by (2015’s Time Runs Out and Secret Wars, respectively), the idea of Battleworld being done on the big screen is by no means a minor accomplishment. In Time Runs Out, Earths from different Universes end up colliding, destroying both iterations of the planet. As a result, Doom rebuilds the Earth – with the help of the Molecule Man and the Beyonders – and creates a new version of the planet named Battleworld.

Battleworld was an Earth that was basically patched together as a new Earth ruled by Doom. The Earth now has different zones that are basically on different Marvel storylines and story-arcs, so it will be interesting to see if that will be the same route they take in the film if this does all indeed end up being true. The heroes must work together to defeat Doom and his henchman, a new version of Doctor Strange, to help save the original Earths. Now, with all that out of the way, how does that relate to the new Spider-Man being released in July?

The theory that we reported yesterday made the claim that the upcoming Spider-Man will contian one of the most massive trailers in MCU history. With Nick Fury recruiting the Avengers and the introduction of Thanos already taking the top spot of MCU post-credit scene importance (in our opinion), we couldn’t think of much else that really could top those. Our best guesses were either a Doomsday tease or an X-Men new cast reveal. New rumors circulating today are basically taking that idea further and giving us an idea about what this could specifically mean, and we honestly think it makes sense. Here’s an example Tweet that we came across:

While the idea of story adjustments isn’t anything major as quite a few Marvel films undergo many different story adjustments during development, the film is the precursor to Doomsday releasing in December and should really work as some sort of tease or bridge between the time gap. We’re not sure what the post-credit scene will be about specifically, but the most shared that we’ve seen is that it shows either the Earths colliding and the universe collapsing, or an actual introduction to Battleworld. For now, your guess is as good as ours, but you can sure bet we will keep you updated.
