  • ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Adds Another Rumored Villain

Aside from Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel fans also have Spider-Man: Brand New Day to look forward to in 2026, and the closer we get to the films release the more details (some confirmed, some still rumors) continue to surface on social media. The film finished shooting in December and will undergo reshoots in February and March, with a theatrical release date of July 31st, 2026.

From what we know about the story so far, Peter will be teaming up with both Bruce Banner’s Hulk and Frank Castle aka the Punisher, with Sadie Sink rumored to be playing Jean Grey who will be running from the Department of Damage Control. As of right now, we don’t have a ton of plot details and even the films main villain remains a mystery with characters like Scorpion confirmed and Tombstone heavily rumored to be playing ancillary villain with another major villain pulling the strings behind the scenes. According to a new rumor that surfaced online today, we can add another potential villain to the list of characters, but don’t expect to see this one as the guy trusted to pull the strings.

If this new rumor is true at all, then the villain Ramrod will be appearing in some small capacity, also speculated to be being played by actor Billy Clements. The rumor was brought forward by well known Twitter user @Cryptic4kQual and while cannot be confirmed has a good chance of holding some truth if based on the source’s track record. It is mentioned that the character will most likely have a very quick scene of only a couple minutes, so don’t expect any intense battles with Spider-Man, but more of a cameo level role instead.

The villain Ramrod is known for his history facing off against both Spider-Man and Daredevil, and is a construction worker that has cyborg qualities and abilities. The character doesn’t have any sort of phenomenal powers but has enhanced strength, agility, and durability and while strong in his own right most likely wouldn’t last more than a few minutes in the ring with any of the other Spider-Man villains. The character has mainly been used as the enforcer or as a henchman for larger villains, and will most likely also serve in that role in Brand New Day if the rumor is true.

Actor Billy Clements as minor villain the Russian in 2024’s Deadpool and Wolverine.

Billy Clements already has a history of minor roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Deadpool and Wolverine, the Secret Invasion television series, and The Eternals with a stunt credit also in Black Widow. You aren’t likely to remember him in any of these roles as they were all background level, so putting him in a bit of a larger role for Spider-Man shouldn’t upset the continuity very much. The actor also has film credits in Dune: Part Two, Take Cover, and Meg 2: The Trench, and would have also has a small role in the cancelled Batgirl film from DC.

For now, everything we hear about Spider-Man that doesn’t come from the studio itself should be taken with a grain of salt. With all the Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday leaks and rumors surfacing on Twitter specifically, it’s safe to assume most should not be taken as legit. Clement has a track record working for Marvel though, so it does track and with the amount of villains and world building it sounds like this movie will be doing it seems like a nice detail and nod to a minor villain from the comics to help support the universe’s foundations.
